Lids Sports Group is the largest licensed sports retailer in North America, selling fan and fashion-oriented headwear and apparel across the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia. Operating out of Indianapolis, IN, our retail stores offer officially licensed headwear and apparel from collegiate and professional sports teams, plus top brands like Nike, New Era, Adidas, and Mitchell & Ness. We currently operate 1,200+ locations domestically and 50+ internationally, including specialty concept stores for the NBA, NHL, Paris Saint-Germain, and numerous MLB teams. In recent years, Lids has built partnerships with iconic global brands including Marvel, Playboy, and the Harlem Globetrotters, and gained ambassadors like Justin Jefferson, Quavo, and Josephine Skriver – creating a community for both sports fans and fashion lovers. General Position Summary

  • Produce sales gains by providing excellent customer service.
  • Meet or exceed Company Objectives in all individual sales statistics.
  • Provide consistent, documented feedback on an associate’s sales performance, highlighting strengths and opportunities, aligned with Company Objectives.
  • Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines, including signage and store cleanliness.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Company Dress Code Policy.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive sales through customer service.
  • Achieve or surpass individual sales targets.
  • Regularly evaluate and support team members’ sales performance.
  • Follow visual merchandising and cleanliness standards.
  • Present a professional image per Dress Code Policy.

Control Expenses

  • Protect company assets following retail policies.
  • Assist in creating store schedules ensuring proper coverage and wage control.
  • Manage inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, pricing, and counting stock.
  • Maintain proper documentation and record keeping per policies and laws.
  • Open and close the store following operational procedures.
  • Support adherence to all policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in training programs and meet sales and operational goals.
  • Assist in recruiting and training staff on store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with policies regarding inventory, funds, and property.
  • Perform duties of subordinates as needed.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; one year of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to generate sales and minimize losses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work overhead.
  • Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
  • Ability to work independently.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

Assistant Store Managers can earn up to 25% above local minimum wage based on experience, with potential bonuses and discounts. Part-time roles are also available.
