Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Mesa, AZ to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and maintain store standards.

The role requires strong communication skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management or supervision. Part-time position with opportunities for growth and leadership within the store team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and functions.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise transfer from truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Protect company assets including store cash and ensure policy compliance.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates; foster a safe, respectful environment.
