Job summary

Fremont Economic Development Corp. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and staff development.

You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, perform opening/closing procedures, and uphold company policies while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The role emphasizes training Store Associates, protecting assets, and ensuring a well-stocked, properly displayed sales floor in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives, maintain promotional displays, and support store operations.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
