OVERVIEW:

We're looking for an Assistant Store Manager - Operations to join our team in our Miami, FL House of Sport store in the Dadeland Mall!

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Partner with the Store Manager on long-range management of the store workforce. Oversee payroll to meet budget, effectively schedule teammates based on athlete traffic, and analyze sales reports to react accordingly.
  2. Hire and build strong teams by partnering closely with the Store Manager to create targeted hiring strategies, actively recruit within the community, and ensure the team reflects the community it serves.
  3. Lead coaching and development efforts, handle teammate discipline, appraisals, performance matters, and make recommendations regarding termination and advancement of teammates.
  4. Plan, organize, and control operations 90 days out with guidance from the Store Manager. Create a hassle-free shopping experience by identifying opportunities and validating key in-store programs (e.g., BOPIS, ship-from-store).
  5. Directly manage team in assigned departments and have a dotted line responsibility for teammates in other areas when serving as Head Coach. Ensure departments meet all merchandising standards, including merchandise exposure, visual presentation, pricing, signage, etc.
  6. Hold teammates accountable for meeting operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service expectations, and company policies.
  7. Ensure compliance with all operational processes, including firearm compliance (if applicable), cash handling, safety requirements, and conduct Loss Prevention audits. Practice safety and security protocols and execute Loss Prevention programs.
  8. Prioritize training, coaching, and development of self and others through daily leadership, accountability, motivation, hands-on coaching, and stretch assignments. Build development plans in partnership with teammates. Make recommendations regarding teammate termination and advancement.
  9. Maintain a people-first culture by connecting with teammates, building mutual trust and respect, and creating an engaging environment. Communicate transparently and find creative ways to foster a high-energy store environment.
  10. Create an inclusive store environment where everyone—teammates and athletes—feels safe, welcome, and encouraged to bring their best self. Support opportunities for teammates to give back to the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • 1-3 years of retail management or customer-focused experience

Based on the location of the House of Sport, relevant state-mandated clearances may be required to supervise minors.
