Based in Washington, DC the Assistant Studio Manager will oversee all aspects of our Union Market Studio working directly with our Studio Manager. In this position, you'll lead operational processes and delivering best in-class guest experiences. You will exercise your financial acumen and sound decision making to guide and inspire the team to meet our goals and continually improve processes. This role will report into the Studio Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the Studio’s overall performance, driving revenue growth and creating a performance-oriented culture by setting clear expectations and targets for Studio team
  • Partners with the Studio Manager with business reporting to identify opportunities in key business metrics and communicates and develop the team’s understanding of each to achieve sales plan
  • Welcomes and educates guests to the unique Studs’ piercing and personalized brand experience
  • Implements ands trains to service recovery best practices and identifies and escalates guest feedback through Studio reviews to improve the overall Studio experience
  • Works with the Studio Manager to manage Studio scheduling within labor allocations and audits for payroll accuracy
  • Be well-versed in the piercing operating procedures to ensure guest experience, work safety, and record keeping standards are met
  • Prioritizes Studio compliance to policies and standard operating procedures, while ensuring inventory control through POS accuracy and loss prevention measures
  • Creates a sense of belonging and strong team morale through trust and collaboration

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2 years of comparable management experience ; experience with jewelry, piercing, retail services or services is a plus
  • Availability: 40 hours per week across five shifts, inclusive of weekdays and weekends (no overnights!)
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods of time up to 8+ hours
  • Able to lift, carry, and move at least 20 lbs
  • Must be able to handle chemicals safely
  • Leader in change management with proven expertise in effectively managing and developing a team of 7+ employees; experience with specialized skill employees preferred
  • Driven, creative problem solver that consistently acts with integrity and speaks up
  • Owner’s mindset, with the ability to approach feedback and problems with a positive attitude
  • Ability to be scrappy, organized, and navigate dynamic change by leveraging tools and resources creatively
