Position Purpose
Assistant Store Managers in Training are learning the various responsibilities and functions of the following roles: Assistant Store Manager, Operations Assistant Store Manager, Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, and Specialty Assistant Store Manager. They support the Store Manager in developing strategies to drive sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise customer service initiatives, ensure in-stock position, and maintain store appearance. Support staffing, stock management, selling behaviors, customer issues, and service needs.
2. Supervise store associates, including hiring, coaching, training, and performance management, including disciplinary procedures.
3. Oversee operations including sales transactions, back-end processes, and equipment maintenance, with a focus on safety compliance.
4. Drive merchandise planning and business analysis to enhance profitability, working with key partners on merchandise placement and inventory management.

Reporting and Travel

• Report to a Store Manager and gradually assume supervisory responsibilities.
• Overnight travel less than 10% may be required.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Primarily sitting with opportunities to move; occasional lifting of light articles.
• Indoor work environment, infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED, with 3 years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• No additional qualifications or leadership experience required.
• Competencies include integrity, product knowledge, customer service, achievement orientation, safety, and results delivery.
