Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist the Store Manager in maintaining daily store operations, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, managing expenses and inventory, training and developing staff, handling human resources, and providing outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the quality and performance of the retail store staff.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Model effective leadership to motivate staff towards store goals and standards.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and development of store personnel.
- Support Store Manager in performance evaluations of staff.
- Help manage expenses and develop strategies to meet budget goals.
- Monitor and address issues related to loss prevention and store performance.
- Ensure operational compliance, safety standards, and business standards are met.
- Support employee training in selling and merchandising techniques.
- Uphold customer service standards to ensure a friendly environment.
- Assist with merchandise inventory counts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A standard workweek is up to 40 hours, with a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
- At least one (1) year of retail management experience.

- Ability to think strategically, plan, organize, and maintain professionalism.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work across multiple stores in the district.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed.
