Job summary

JCPenney in Fairfax, VA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to back the Store Manager in driving results and delivering an amazing customer experience. You will lead a team, manage store operations, and maintain an engaging, visually appealing environment for customers and associates alike.

You will partner with the Store Manager to train and develop staff, demonstrate product knowledge, and ensure merchandising standards.

Qualifications

2+ years as a Co/Assistant Manager in a similar volume apparel business.
Proven track record of exceeding sales and statistical expectations.
Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
May require occasional travel to other store locations.

Responsibilities

Partner with the Store Manager to create action plans to achieve results.
Demonstrate product knowledge, selling and operational skills to maximize sales.
Engage with customers to build relationships and brand loyalty.
Develop team members who are committed to a great customer experience.
Oversee division of responsibility and be accountable for results.
Support store standards for merchandising and operations.
Learn all aspects of the business and share ideas to drive it.
Perform POS transactions on designated shifts and manage in the Store Manager's absence.
