Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in South Dakota to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, manage merchandise flow, and help supervise store associates.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction. This position is full-time at a Family Dollar location.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
