Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to direct all store operations and drive sales while maintaining high standards for safety, food safety, and customer service. You will lead a team across perishable and non-perishable departments, develop leaders, and ensure performance targets are met.

Responsibilities include inventory control, cost management, staff training, and enforcing regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age and able to meet physical requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business management, marketing, retailing, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of retail experience with proven leadership in perishable and non-perishable departments.
• Demonstrated success leading department operations including profit and loss, safety, staffing, training, and performance management.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented and solution-focused.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, bookkeeping/accounting, time and attendance, and HR software.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays; Food Safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Positively shape store culture by modeling Sprouts leadership values.
• Develop the store leadership team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Lead a team of approximately ten people including Department Managers and Receivers.
• Manage inventory, labor, and expenses to meet sales targets (P&L ownership).
• Ensure safety, food safety, labeling, and regulatory compliance across all departments.
• Communicate expectations, policies, and new initiatives to staff.
• Oversee backroom organization, displays, and merchandising standards.
• Address emergencies, crises, and equipment issues with urgency.
