General Function / Summary:

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring outstanding customer service and regulatory compliance.

Job Description
Essential Duties:
  • Serve and educate customers on the product portfolio by presenting all options for products and/or services to meet their needs.
  • Escalate issues to the store manager, District Director of Operations (DDO), and corporate office if unable to resolve the issue directly with the customer.
  • Answer telephone inquiries regarding general questions, customer applications, requests, or other issues.
  • Perform outbound customer sales, courtesy, and collection calls in accordance with federal regulations, store procedures, and district or region expectations.
  • Respond professionally and accurately to customers, explaining possible solutions and ensuring the customer feels supported and valued.
  • Interact with customers using active listening skills, to confirm or clarify information and diffuse complaints.
  • Handle and count currency, manage a cash drawer, and perform cash handling requirements, including bank deposits or pickups if applicable.
  • Balance individual batch receipts with store sales reports at end of day and assist with resolving discrepancies.
  • Perform customer verifications to validate presented information.
  • Process transactions accurately per company policy, including loans, check cashing, and Net Spend.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Complete compliance trainings and quarterly I Agree acknowledgments timely.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in sales, customer service, and/or cash handling preferred.
  • Strong customer service, active listening, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Own reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.
  • Willingness to embrace core values of accountability, inclusiveness, transparency, and focus.
Physical Demands:
  • Work in call center/retail/office environment.
  • Extensive cash handling and long periods of standing.
  • Extended computer use and typing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with accommodations.
Travel / Attendance:
  • Travel within district using personal vehicle; may include overnight travel.
  • Work scheduled shifts as assigned.
