Rothy's in Washington DC—Georgetown is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead the store team, partner with the Store Manager, and deliver the Rothy's Experience on the sales floor. You will coach teammates, manage operations, and plan events, while maintaining visual standards and a welcoming, inclusive culture.

The role requires 2–4 years in retail with leadership, a passion for service, and ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of retail experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Strong skills in coaching and developing talent on the sales floor.
• Familiarity with operational processes, including merchandising and shipment.
• Ability to stand/walk an entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Availability to work 40 hours/week including peak days.

• Assist in planning and executing in-store events and activations to grow brand awareness.
• Maintain presentation standards including visual merchandising, cleanliness, and dress code.

About the role:

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will partner closely with the Store Manager to drive a culture of service, sales, and operational excellence. You will lead by example on the sales floor, inspire your team, and ensure the store delivers an exceptional customer experience. You will also act as the "Manager on Duty" when the Store Manager is not present, supporting both people leadership and business operations.

What you'll do:

Team Leadership & Operational Excellence (20%)

• Partner with Store Manager on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training a strong store team

• Maintain a high performance standard by training the team on all SOPs, service expectations, selling skills, and Rothy's product knowledge

• Support the execution of the Division of Responsibility (DOR) program by successfully owning assigned areas of responsibility

• Develop team performance and engagement through regular floor observations, in the moment coaching, ongoing check-ins, and participation in monthly 1:1s

• Support the team in daily store operations and visual merchandising to ensure a seamless customer and employee experience

Customer Experience (80%)

• Lead and model Rothy's Experience through exceptional service and selling from the sales floor, actively coaching, training, and inspecting behaviors to uphold brand standards

• Build customer loyalty through effective clienteling and relationship-building on the sales floor

• Drive sales and key performance indicators by supporting goal-setting, celebrating wins, and reinforcing accountability through daily coaching

• Assist in the planning and execution of in-store events and activations that grow brand awareness, engage the local community, and drive sales

• Support the team with all presentation standards including visual merchandising, cleanliness, and dress code to ensure the store meets all brand expectations

You are:

• Guided by Rothy's values and committed to fostering a welcoming, service driven environment:

• 18 years or age or older

You have:

• 2-4 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role

• A proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets through both personal performance and team leadership

• Strong skills in coaching and developing talent on the sales floor

• Familiarity with operational processes, including merchandising and shipment

• Ability to stand/walk an entire shift

• Ability to lift, push carry or otherwise move up to 25 lbs

• Ability to frequently bending, reaching, stretching, and safely use ladders and step stools

• Ability to uphold Rothy's Experience by following our dress code, including wearing Rothy's shoes during every shift

• Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours/week, including peak business days (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays), holidays, and evening and opening shifts

Pay Range

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
