Assistant Store Manager

Reporting to the Store Director, this exempt position involves overseeing store departments, promoting teamwork, coaching staff, resolving customer issues, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Knowledge

• A valid driver’s license for deliveries.
• Food handling permit within first 14 days.
• Liquor license if applicable.
• Minimum 2 years management experience in food service, retail, or grocery.
• Ongoing training as per Cosentino Learning Plan.

Skills & Job Functions

• Supervise store activities, motivate staff, and promote a positive work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and address employee relations issues.
• Hire qualified candidates and resolve customer complaints professionally.
• Implement customer service standards and manage labor costs.
• Ensure quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
• Operate equipment safely and promote product sales through merchandising.
• Maintain open communication with the Store Director and support community relations.

Physical Abilities

• Reaching, twisting, lifting up to 20 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Standing, walking, bending, and working in cold environments.
• Climbing ladders up to 15 ft as necessary.
