Job Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager at Lids, your responsibilities include:

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Control Expenses

1. Protect company assets according to retail policies.
2. Assist in preparing store work schedules within wage control guidelines.
3. Manage inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, pricing, and counting.
4. Perform timely and consistent product counts.
5. Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping per policies and legal requirements.
6. Open and close the store following operational procedures.

Supervise Associates

1. Act as the store manager on duty when necessary.
2. Manage staff through training, goal setting, and follow-up.
3. Handle disciplinary actions and staffing issues.
4. Participate in recruiting and training.
5. Ensure compliance with company policies and safeguard assets.
6. Perform duties of subordinates as needed.
7. Communicate effectively across all levels.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to generate sales and minimize loss.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficiency with relevant software.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work with hands overhead.
• Standing for up to 100% of shift; ability to work independently.
