General Summary:

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers. A key priority includes assisting the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork, under the direction of the Store Manager.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
  • Ensure a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
  • Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures, under Store Manager guidance.
  • Assist in unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.
  • Assist Store Manager with ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
  • Support loss prevention efforts.
  • Take on management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to interpret operational directives.
  • Experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and up to 55 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks like walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive lifting.
  • Flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Skills in customer service, organizational skills, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management.
