Job description

General Description

Generate sales by providing excellent customer service and meeting or exceeding company objectives in sales performance. Support associates through documented performance appraisals, offering feedback on strengths and opportunities, aligned with company goals. Maintain visual merchandising standards, signage, and store cleanliness. Ensure a professional appearance in accordance with the company dress code.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Control Expenses

• Protect company assets following LIDS Retail policies.
• Assist in preparing store work schedules to ensure proper coverage within wage control guidelines.
• Manage store inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, pricing, and conducting product counts.
• Perform timely and consistent product counts and proper documentation per company policies and legal requirements.
• Open and close the store as per procedures outlined in the Operations P&P Manual.

Additional Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise Associates

• Act as Store Manager on duty in their absence for scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc.
• Manage store associates through training programs, goal setting, and regular follow-up when the Store Manager is not present.
• Handle disciplinary actions including verbal and written warnings in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Manage store staffing, including calling in associates during unexpected peaks.
• Participate in training programs, set sales and task goals, and follow up regularly.
• Assist in recruiting and training staff on store operations and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including inventory, funds, and property security.
• Perform subordinate work when needed.
• Communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to generate sales results while minimizing losses.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in operating computers and relevant software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with hands overhead.
• Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
