Assistant Store Manager - Fort Campbell, Clarksville, TN

We are seeking dedicated employees to join our team and ensure our customers have the best experience every time they enter a DTLR store.

Position Summary: The primary purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to support the Store Manager in daily store operations, maximizing sales and profitability through merchandising, managing expenses and inventory, training staff, human resources management, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the quality and performance of the retail store staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Model effective leadership to motivate staff towards store goals and training standards.
  • Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
  • Support the Store Manager in conducting performance evaluations.
  • Assist with expense management and develop strategies to meet budget goals.
  • Monitor store operations to minimize shrinkage and address issues promptly.
  • Ensure operational compliance, safety, and business standards are maintained.
  • Support employee training in selling and merchandising techniques.
  • Uphold customer service standards to provide a friendly environment and outstanding service.
  • Assist with merchandise inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work hours are a standard week not exceeding 40 hours, with a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

To succeed, candidates must perform all duties satisfactorily. Requirements include:

  • Minimum of one (1) year in retail management.

  • High interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations.
  • Ability to think strategically, plan, organize, and maintain professionalism.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work across multiple stores within the district.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
