As a full-time Assistant Store Manager, you are passionate about providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement. You act as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager, developing your ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. You support an in-store culture where customers say, “I’ll take it” and remain loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You stay enthusiastic about the product, stay updated on trends, and support your team in doing the same. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes and aim to make every customer experience a little bit of the Famous Feeling.

What You’ll Be Doing
  1. Inspire the Customer Connection: Foster a caring and engaging environment focused on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless service. Use coaching moments to enhance selling behaviors.
  2. Champion Talent Discovery: Proactively seek and network with exceptional external talent to elevate store sales. Collaborate with the Store Manager to interview and hire passionate individuals.
  3. Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: Manage daily operations, including pricing, shipping, and inventory, ensuring adherence to store standards. Support staffing needs based on business demands.
  4. Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Drive sales with purpose, applying observations and insights to continually improve performance.
  5. Be a Culture Builder: Promote diversity and inclusivity, ensuring team members feel valued and respected. Lead by example to increase retention and performance.
  6. Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: Step in during the Store Manager’s absence, ensure compliance with policies, and develop internal talent in partnership with the Store Manager.
Essential Functions

Preferred Qualifications & Education
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
  • Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to train and develop team members.
  • Independent judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements & Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
  • Experience in retail environments with team leadership responsibilities.
  • Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
