As a full-time Assistant Store Manager, you are passionate about providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement. You act as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager. You are a people leader, developing your ability to motivate and manage a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. Through personal demonstration, training, and development, you support an in-store culture where customers say, “I’ll take it” and remain loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You stay enthusiastic about the product and store presentation, keeping up with trends and supporting your team’s education. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes and help every customer experience the Famous Feeling.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Inspire the Customer Connection: Foster a culture of caring and camaraderie focused on customer relationships and operational excellence. Use coaching moments to enhance selling behaviors.
- Champion Talent Discovery: Seek out and network with potential talent. Collaborate with the Store Manager to interview and hire passionate individuals who excel in customer service and sales.
- Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: Manage daily operations, including pricing, shipping, inventory, and staffing, ensuring the store runs smoothly and styles are easily shoppable.
- Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Drive sales, achieve goals, and use observations to improve store performance continually.
- Be a Culture Builder: Promote diversity and inclusivity, maintain a positive environment, and lead by example to increase retention and team performance.
- Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: Step in during the Store Manager’s absence, ensure policy compliance, and develop internal talent.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
- High School Diploma/GED.
- At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
- Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training.
- Strong leadership, motivation, and communication skills.
- Ability to train and develop staff.
- Independent judgment and discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of retail practices and procedures.
- Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements & Environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Experience in retail leadership roles preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
