As a full-time Assistant Store Manager, you are passionate about providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement. You act as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager, developing your ability to motivate a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. You support an in-store culture where customers feel welcomed and loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You stay updated on trends, support store team education, and love shoes, ensuring every customer experiences the Famous Feeling.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Inspire the Customer Connection: Foster a caring and camaraderie-focused culture, coaching associates on selling behaviors that enhance customer relationships.
- Champion Talent Discovery: Seek out and network with exceptional external talent, collaborating with the Store Manager to hire passionate individuals who create excellent customer experiences.
- Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: Manage daily operations, including pricing, shipping, and inventory, supporting staffing based on store needs and peak times.
- Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Drive sales with purpose, using insights to improve store performance continually.
- Be a Culture Builder: Promote diversity, inclusivity, and a positive work environment, leading by example and supporting team retention and performance.
- Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: Step in during the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring policy compliance, developing internal talent, and maintaining high standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
- High School Diploma/GED.
- At least 1 year of sales experience, retail preferred.
- Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training.
- Leadership, motivation, and communication skills.
- Ability to train and develop team members.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of retail practices and procedures.
- Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements & Environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
