Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Gonzales, LA is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service, merchandising, and administrative duties. You will learn about each product area and uphold store policies and standards while promoting merchandise.

The role reports to the Store Manager in a non-exempt, hourly position at Ascension Plaza. This is a frontline leadership position focused on excellent customer service and store profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail environment, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and achieve goals.
• Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in daily store operations and administrative duties.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume supervisory role in Store Manager's absence and help manage store responsibilities.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to drive profitability.
