Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist the Store Manager in managing daily store operations, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, managing expenses and inventory, training and developing staff, human resources management, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall performance and quality of the retail store staff.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Model effective leadership to motivate staff toward store goals and training standards.
- Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and development of store personnel.
- Support performance evaluations and provide feedback to the Store Manager.
- Assist with expense management and develop strategies to meet budget goals.
- Monitor and address issues related to loss prevention and store performance to meet shrink goals.
- Ensure operational compliance, safety standards, and business standards are maintained.
- Support employee training in selling and merchandising techniques.
- Uphold customer service standards to ensure each customer receives outstanding service in a friendly environment.
- Assist with merchandise inventory counts and control.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A standard work week not to exceed 40 hours.
- Flexible schedule required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications

Education And/Or Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year in retail management.
Skills And Knowledge Requirements
- Strong knowledge of business operations and excellent English communication skills.
- High interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to think strategically, plan, and organize effectively.
- Maintain professionalism in all situations.
- Proficient analytical skills for data gathering, problem-solving, and prioritization.
- Results-driven with critical and creative thinking skills; project and time management skills required.
- Discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment are essential.
- Ability to plan, organize, multi-task, and adapt to changing demands.
- Ability to execute directives accurately and consistently.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work across multiple stores within the district.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods; lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Work extended hours during critical periods; operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.
