Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, managing expenses and inventory, training and developing staff, human resources management, and providing outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the quality and performance of the retail store staff.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Model effective leadership to achieve store goals and training standards.
- Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and development of store personnel.
- Support Store Manager in performance evaluations of employees.
- Assist with expense management and develop strategies to meet budget goals.
- Monitor and address issues related to store loss or inconsistencies to meet shrink targets.
- Ensure operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
- Support employee training in selling and merchandising techniques.
- Uphold customer service standards to provide a friendly environment for customers.
- Assist with merchandise inventory counts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Note: A standard work week does not exceed 40 hours. Flexible scheduling including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
Qualifications
Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Requirements include:
- Minimum of one (1) year in retail management.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work across multiple stores within the district.
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods; lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Work extended hours in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
