General Function / Summary:

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring outstanding customer service and regulatory excellence.

Duties
Essential Duties:
  • Serve and educate customers on the product portfolio by presenting all options for products and/or services to meet their needs.
  • Escalate issues to the store manager, District Director of Operations (DDO), and corporate office if unable to resolve the issue directly with the customer.
  • Answer telephone inquiries related to general questions, customer applications, requests, or other issues.
  • Perform outbound customer sales, courtesy, and collection calls following federal regulations, store procedures, and district or region expectations.
  • Respond professionally and accurately to customers, explaining possible solutions and ensuring they feel supported and valued.
  • Interact with customers using active listening to confirm or clarify information and diffuse complaints.
  • Handle and count currency, manage cash drawers, perform deposits, and other cash handling tasks; may include bank deposits or pickups.
  • Balance individual batch receipts with store sales reports at day’s end and resolve over/short discrepancies.
  • Perform customer verifications to validate presented information.
  • Process transactions accurately per company policy, including loans, check cashing, and Net Spend.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations and company policies.
  • Complete compliance training and quarterly I Agree modules on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education And Experience Required
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1+ year experience in sales, customer service, or cash handling preferred.
  • Strong customer service, active listening, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Own reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Willingness to embrace core values of accountability, inclusion, transparency, and focus.
Physical Demands
  • Work in call center/retail/office environment.
  • Extensive cash handling.
  • Extended phone and computer use.
  • Long periods of standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with accommodations.
Travel / Attendance
  • Travel to all stores within the district using personal vehicle.
  • Potential travel to neighboring districts and overnight stays.
  • Work scheduled shifts.
