Assistant Store Manager - Cloverleaf, Hattiesburg, MS

Position Summary

The primary purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandising, managing expenses and inventory, training and developing staff, human resources management, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the overall quality and performance of the store staff.
  2. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  3. Model effective leadership to motivate staff towards store goals and standards.
  4. Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and development of store personnel.
  5. Support performance evaluations and provide feedback to the Store Manager.
  6. Help manage expenses and develop strategies to meet budget goals.
  7. Monitor store operations to minimize loss and ensure adherence to standards.
  8. Ensure safety and compliance with business standards.
  9. Support employee training in selling and merchandising techniques.
  10. Uphold customer service standards to provide a friendly environment.
  11. Assist with inventory counts and management.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
  13. Workweek not to exceed 40 hours, with flexible scheduling including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications

To perform this role successfully, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • At least one year of retail management experience.
