POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture, aligning with our values and guiding principles. Responsibilities include managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources functions to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance Culture
  1. Analyze sales reports and KPIs to determine business needs; collaborate with Store Manager to execute sales strategies.
  2. Establish clear expectations and hold the team accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  3. Control payroll and supply budgets.
  4. Oversee operational activities such as scheduling, inventory, cash handling, and visual merchandising.
  5. Ensure compliance with laws and policies; conduct associate training on controls.
  6. Manage inventory receipt, dispatch, replenishment, and physical inventories.
  7. Maintain store presentation and facility standards.
  8. Develop a high-performance sales culture and motivate the team to meet sales goals.
  9. Train and coach staff on product knowledge and selling techniques.
Building High Performing Teams
  1. Motivate and inspire the team, fostering a shared vision and core values.
  2. Promote collaboration and effective communication for positive change.
  3. Seek personal development opportunities and feedback to enhance leadership skills.
Customer Experience
  1. Promote MAPS principles and ensure a cohesive omni-channel experience.
  2. Utilize sales techniques and product knowledge to assist customers.
  3. Resolve customer concerns promptly.
  4. Ensure efficient register operations and adherence to policies.
  5. Maintain ongoing communication with customers through loyalty programs and engagement efforts.
Talent Management
  1. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing the team.
  2. Support training programs and evaluate performance.
  3. Address HR issues timely and effectively.
  4. Recognize and reward outstanding employee performance.
  5. Ensure adherence to employment policies.

Other duties as assigned, with some variability depending on the brand.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years retail management experience preferred
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to technology
  • Proven customer service and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Knowledge of store operations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Walking/Standing: 67-100% of shift
  • Occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.: 1-33% of shift
  • Frequent Climbing: 34-66% of shift
