POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture, managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources to ensure excellent customer experience and profitability. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance Culture
  1. Analyze sales reports and KPIs; collaborate with Store Manager on business and sales strategies.
  2. Set clear expectations; hold team accountable for brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  3. Manage payroll and supply budgets.
  4. Oversee operational activities like scheduling, inventory, and cash handling.
  5. Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and loss prevention; train staff accordingly.
  6. Manage inventory receipts, floor replenishment, and physical inventories.
  7. Maintain visual presentation and facility standards.
  8. Motivate and develop sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
  9. Train and coach staff on product knowledge and selling techniques.
Building High Performing Teams
  1. Motivate and inspire the team, promoting shared vision and core values.
  2. Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.
  3. Communicate effectively to lead positive change.
  4. Seek personal development and feedback to enhance leadership skills.
Customer Experience
  1. Promote and model excellent personal service and omni-channel experience.
  2. Utilize sales techniques and product knowledge to assist customers.
  3. Resolve customer concerns promptly.
  4. Ensure efficient register operations and adherence to payment policies.
  5. Maintain ongoing communication with customers through loyalty programs and feedback.
Talent Management
  1. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing team members.
  2. Implement and follow up on training programs.
  3. Evaluate and coach team performance.
  4. Address HR issues promptly in partnership with the Store Manager.
  5. Recognize and reward outstanding employee performance.
  6. Ensure adherence to employment policies.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years retail management experience preferred.
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to technology.
  • Proven customer service and sales leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Leadership, training, and team building abilities.
  • Knowledge of store operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff.
  • Reliable attendance; flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant walking/standing (67-100% of shift).
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent climbing (34-66% of shift).
