Job summary

Paycom is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, ensure prompt, courteous service, and drive sales and profitability in a fast-paced environment.

You will supervise department managers and front-end staff, manage inventory, pricing, and security procedures, and lead hiring, training, and daily store walk-throughs to identify needs and improve performance. Strong English, interpersonal skills, and prior grocery experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English and follow store policies.
• Ability to read instructions, product labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, reports printed on paper and forms.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Wage & Hour, FMLA, OSHA, ADA, EEO, Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, Nutrition Labeling & Education Act, Weights and Measures, etc.
• Prior grocery store experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage store operations to achieve sales, profit, expense and labor budgets.
• Direct hiring, training, and supervision of store staff.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, pricing, and display changes; SRP updates.
• Maintain store conditions, security procedures, and safety programs.
• Conduct daily store meetings to review merchandising, sales planning, and operating problems.
• Ensure prompt and courteous service to customers and proper training of personnel.
