Assistant Manager

Overview

Liquor Barn, Party Mart, and DEP'S (BRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of GoPuff. We operate a retail chain of spirits, beer, wine, and party goods across Kentucky, with 23 locations including Louisville, Lexington, Danville, Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, Owensboro, and Northern Kentucky. Our delivery radius covers 80% of Kentucky residents.

As an Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in delivering excellent customer service and driving sales of BRS products. Your role includes managing daily operations, motivating the team to meet store goals, and enforcing company policies, safety, and security standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high levels of customer service, drive sales, and handle difficult situations
  • Manage inventory control and assist in reviewing orders
  • Collaborate with corporate, vendors, and the buying team
  • Interview, hire, and conduct employee orientations, training, and development
  • Coach employees to improve customer experience
  • Have expert knowledge of BRS products to recommend to customers
  • Communicate with the General Manager regarding business and team needs
  • Support performance evaluations and provide feedback
  • Participate in hiring processes, including screening interviews
  • Ensure compliance with all company standards
  • Assist in scheduling to drive sales while managing payroll expectations
  • Execute marketing, promotions, and events promptly
  • Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and display information
  • Perform cashier functions and adhere to policies during customer transactions
  • Maintain store safety and cleanliness standards
  • Support safety standards for deliveries
  • Participate in product education and training classes
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum of 3 years retail management experience
  • Ability to work full-time, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle cash accurately
  • Desire to develop retail sales skills and product knowledge
  • Experience working in a professional team environment
  • Positive attitude and engaging demeanor
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

This role requires physical activity such as standing, moving, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and kneeling. Safety and proper handling of objects are essential.
