Leads the daily operations of the sales floor at a Goodwill retail store in the San Francisco Bay area to support the mission of ending unemployment. Responsibilities include people leadership, store operations, customer service, financial management, inventory control, donation processing, and team member development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes retail operations plans to meet financial and operational goals.
  • Monitors product levels and manages inventory to achieve sales targets.
  • Controls payroll and operating costs within budget.
  • Ensures excellent customer service from Team Members.
  • De-escalates customer issues and finds appropriate solutions.
  • Maintains store cleanliness and reflects the Goodwill brand.
  • Builds community partnerships and serves as a Goodwill ambassador.
  • Leads daily store operations and ensures staff are well-trained.
  • Acts as a key holder, closing shift manager, and backup to the Store Manager.
  • Processes complex sales transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Travels to other store locations as needed and participates in training and development.
  • Collaborates with support areas to meet business goals and ensure policy compliance.
  • Maintains consistent in-person attendance.
  • Builds and manages a high-performing team, including performance management and staffing.
  • Supports company culture change initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of retail management experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • English proficiency

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift/carry/push/pull at least 20 lbs frequently
  • Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend regularly
