Join to apply for the Assistant Store Manager (ASM) role at Goodwill San Francisco Bay

This position leads the daily operations of the sales floor at a Goodwill retail store, supporting the mission to end unemployment. Responsibilities include people leadership, store operations, customer service, financial management, inventory control, donation processing, and staff training and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute retail plans to meet sales and operational goals.
  • Monitor product levels and manage store inventory.
  • Control payroll and operating costs within budget.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and de-escalate customer issues.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and brand standards.
  • Partner with community organizations and serve as a Goodwill ambassador.
  • Lead daily store operations and ensure staff are well-trained.
  • Handle complex sales transactions and manage store security as a key holder.
  • Travel between store locations as needed for support and training.
  • Collaborate with support departments to ensure compliance and achieve business goals.
  • Manage team performance, staffing, and development.
  • Contribute to company culture and change management initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of retail management experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
  • Proficient in English reading and speaking.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift and carry up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, and bend regularly.
Additional Information:

Salary: $68,640 annually

Benefits include health insurance, retirement, training, and wellness programs.

This role is full-time, exempt, with travel to various store locations as needed.
