Job summary

Natural Choice Foods in Michigan is seeking a Manager in Training to grow into a Store Manager. You will gain hands-on experience in store operations, team leadership, customer service, recruiting, merchandising, and business performance at a Daily Deals location.

The program offers structured development, coaching, and opportunities to advance, with evenings/weekends required and competitive pay and benefits as you progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of retail, grocery, customer service, or related experience.
• Previous leadership, key holder, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to coach, develop, and motivate team members.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in daily operations and overall store success.
• Lead, motivate, and support team members to achieve goals.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding to build a strong team.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while reinforcing accountability.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences and resolve concerns professionally.
• Execute merchandising, inventory, pricing, and promotions to drive sales.
• Analyze sales, labor, inventory, and reports to identify opportunities for improvement; assist with scheduling.
• Ensure policies, safety standards, and procedures are followed.
• Assume store leadership when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Complete leadership milestones designed for future Store Manager opportunities.

As a Manager in Training, you'll participate in a structured leadership development program designed to prepare high‑potential individuals for future Store Manager opportunities. Working alongside experienced leaders, you'll gain hands-on experience in store operations, team leadership, customer service, recruiting, merchandising, and business performance while helping drive the success of a Daily Deals location. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about retail, enjoy leading others, and are eager to grow their career within a fast-paced and expanding retail organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in the daily operations and overall success of the store.
• Lead, motivate, and support team members to achieve operational, customer service, and sales goals.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding efforts to build a strong store team.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while reinforcing accountability and performance expectations.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences and resolve customer concerns in a professional manner.
• Execute merchandising, inventory, pricing, and promotional initiatives to drive sales and customer engagement.
• Analyze sales, labor, inventory, and operational reports to identify opportunities for improvement.Assist with scheduling, staffing, and labor planning based on business needs.
• Ensure company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures are consistently followed.
• Assume store leadership responsibilities when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Complete leadership development milestones designed to prepare you for future Store Manager opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of retail, grocery, customer service, or related experience.
