General Summary

As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. Responsibilities include maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers positively, resolving inquiries and concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and providing excellent customer service.
• Supervising, training, and developing Store Associates on operating practices and procedures.
• Unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.
• Assisting in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Supporting loss prevention efforts.
• Assuming management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Following all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives.
• Experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs; capable of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills include customer focus, developing potential, results-driven attitude, organizational and communication skills, problem-solving, and relationship management.
