What You'll Do Here
- Assists in managing the team and store processes effectively to meet sales and production goals monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Trains and coaches employees using various platforms including in-person, online, and written processes.
- Effectively uses technology such as Microsoft Office suite, Point of Sales system, Human Resources Information System, cash register operations system, camera system, to communicate, monitor, and track store metrics.
- Analyzes expenses, production, and sales to achieve revenue goals to support and fund Goodwill of Central Iowa’s mission.
- Regularly provides work performance feedback to employees using GCI’s values of love, kindness, and respect.
- Provides communication within the store through team meetings, one-on-one conversations, electronically, and by posting or distributing relevant written materials.
- Supports the Mission department and activities through our round-up program, promoting Mission activities and programs, supporting Mission goals and employees.
- Provides excellent customer service and responds effectively and promptly to customer needs.
- Assists in managing store DGR (donated goods retail) processes of sorting, pricing, and rotating merchandise to achieve production and sales goals.
- Partners with Store Manager and Safety & Loss Control Specialist to monitor and manage safety processes, regular safety activities, and safety training.
- Regularly completes and submits reports, performs employee actions within the HRIS, monitors and updates timekeeping and payroll data for team members.
- Monitors and assists in maintaining internal and external appearance standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to run cash register, computer, wheeled carts, and clothing racks.
- Ability to work independently and be flexible; adaptable to change.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and assign/monitor work.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.
- High school diploma or its equivalent or currently attending high school or GED classes.
- A minimum of twelve (12) months of related full-time paid employment, including at least six (6) months of supervisory experience.
- Access to reliable transportation for regular participation in work and possess valid Iowa Driver’s License.
- Able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
- Ability to carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds regularly.
- This position requires a flexible schedule which includes days, evenings, and weekends to support business needs.
