Job description

The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums which may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Job Overview

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
  4. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring training is current.
  5. Participate in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and conducting interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
  6. Answer the telephone according to company policy.
  7. Ensure timely processing of buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders, and contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
  8. Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger for handling special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
  9. Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly, issue refunds accurately, and handle returned merchandise correctly.
  10. Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
  11. Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
  12. Ensure team members adhere to company policies, including work schedules, clocking in/out, and approved deviations.
  13. Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, verifying/securing deposits, preparing bank deposits, and securing the store and delivery vehicles.
  14. Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, lighting, hardware, equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, and Abilities
Required:
  • Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification
  • Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
