Job description

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
  4. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring training is current.
  5. Assist in recruiting tasks, including scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management for hiring decisions.
  6. Ensure telephone answering complies with company policy.
  7. Ensure timely processing of buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders, contacting customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
  8. Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger for efficient handling of special orders and outside purchases.
  9. Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly, issuing refunds accurately and handling returned merchandise correctly.
  10. Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
  11. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
  12. Ensure team members comply with policies, including work schedules, deviations, and clocking in/out.
  13. Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, and securing the premises and delivery vehicles.
  14. Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, lighting, hardware, service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
Required:
  • Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification.
  • Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
