Position Summary

Upholds the Core Values as determined by the management team. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of the store in the absence of the Store Manager. They are tasked with maximizing store sales and profitability, minimizing expenses, ensuring optimal stock levels and merchandising, and contributing to the growth and development of the management team and store associates.

Shift: Varies

Position Summary: Upholds the Core Values, manages daily store operations, drives sales and profitability, ensures excellent customer service, maintains inventory accuracy, and promotes safety and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sales and Operations: Hire, train, develop staff; oversee store evaluations; supervise staff performance; delegate tasks; conduct evaluations; complete merchandising updates; work with vendors; forecast staffing needs; monitor payroll; develop marketing strategies; perform other tasks as directed.
2. Customer Service: Promote and exemplify customer service excellence; conduct team coaching; communicate store performance; ensure customer satisfaction; review service measurements; observe and coach associates.
3. Inventory: Maintain inventory accuracy; utilize reports to reduce shrinkage; ensure proper stock levels.
4. Coaching and Training: Engage in professional development; oversee associate training programs.
5. Safety, Compliance, and Store Environment: Enforce safety policies; maintain store appearance; conduct safety inspections.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in retail or customer service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Effective communication skills; leadership ability; analytical skills; organizational and time management skills; basic retail software proficiency; relationship management; professional appearance; valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, reach, bend; lift/move merchandise up to 40 pounds.
