Job summary

Staples is hiring Assistant Managers to lead store teams, drive sales, and ensure an outstanding customer experience. You will establish customer relationships, guide a high-performing team, and execute store operations with a focus on profitability.

You will coach and develop staff, meet conversion goals, and implement merchandising and community engagement initiatives while embodying Staples values and flexibility to change as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services environment.
• Experience coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-focused setting.
• Ability to engage with customers and understand their needs.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Ability to review results against goals and implement growth plans.
• Ability to handle conflicts cooperatively and with integrity.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Physical ability to lift/move materials (10–50 lbs), climb ladders, stand and walk.

Essential Skills And Experience

• 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry
• Experience managing and coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
• Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
• Strong communication, organization, planning and adaptive to changing business priorities
• Review results against business goals and strategies and deliver plans for growth and improvement
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
