Overall Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for proficiency in all areas of a specialty retail farm and ranch store. They serve as the second in charge of operations to the Store Manager, delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, providing leadership and direction to the store team, and performing operational activities. The role also involves promoting a safe and productive work environment, and training Team Members on policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Availability, flexibility, adaptability, and service orientation are essential. Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining attendance and working scheduled shifts, including varied hours, nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Upholding safety and productivity policies.
• Delivering Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet, Uncover needs, Recommend solutions, and Add value.
• Proficiency in Team Leader and Receiver functions.
• Creating a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive environment in the store.
• Performing duties such as assisting in store operations, supporting staffing and training, managing opening/closing, deposits, customer issues, merchandising, inventory, and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

Experience in retail leadership is required, with preferred knowledge in farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding. Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred Skills

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Working Conditions

• Indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise, adequate lighting, and temperature.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather.
• Shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods.
