Responsibilities

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom and ensure compliance with service programs.
• Coordinate staffing for peak hours to maintain service levels.
• Assist the store manager in goal setting, coaching and training of team members.
• Participate in recruiting tasks, interviews, and candidate evaluation.
• Answer phones in accordance with company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store and related orders promptly; contact customers on shipment arrivals as needed.
• Use the electronic outside PO ledger to manage special orders and outside purchases.
• Process returns and exchanges efficiently and issue refunds accurately.
• Ensure all merchandise is invoiced before leaving the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
• Ensure compliance with posted work schedules and proper clock-in/out.
• Perform opening/closing duties including money handling and security checks.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, signage, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.

Compensation Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.00

The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums that may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Role Summary

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts, and will lead the store team members in servicing customers.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on customer service programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.).
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring they stay current on individual training.
• Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members.
• Make sure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
• Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure.
• Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and friendly, refunds issued accurately using the correct payment methods, and returned merchandise is processed or staged correctly.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
• Ensure Zipline messages are communicated, and Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed as assigned.
• Make sure all team members comply with company policies, specifically by adhering to the posted work schedule, having changes/deviations approved by a member of management, and properly clocking in/out.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing the building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing delivery vehicle(s) parked in a secure designated area.
• Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
