As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers. Your key responsibilities include assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations, maintaining inventories, ensuring store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greeting and assisting customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
- Maintaining a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
- Ensuring a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
- Supervising, training, and developing Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures, under the direction of the Store Manager.
- Assisting in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing merchandise, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.
- Supporting Store Manager in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts.
- Supporting loss prevention efforts.
- Assuming certain management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Following all company policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Ability to interpret and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
- Experience: Prefer store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs., occasionally up to 55 lbs., and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible, full-time schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
