Job description

Storage King is seeking an energetic, sales-driven Assistant Store Manager to support the Manager at the Dartford store in all aspects of store operations and business growth. The ideal candidate will be target-oriented with strong sales and customer service skills.

Applicants should have 1-2 years of experience in retail or customer service, or a background in sales. They should be confident, eager to learn, and involved in all aspects of the business. The role requires working towards sales targets and exceeding expectations, with good computer skills and team collaboration. Full training will be provided.

Profile

The successful candidate should possess:

• Experience in managing customer relationships
• The ability to perform in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision
• Self-motivation, passion, and commitment to exceeding expectations
• Some experience in sales and customer service roles
• Capability to meet sales and revenue targets
• Willingness to work every other Saturday with a day off during the week; store hours are 8:30am-6:00pm Monday to Friday, and 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays
• Strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills
• Target-driven attitude and a desire to succeed

Responsibilities

Sales and Customer Service

• Convert prospects into storage customers
• Promote add-on products, merchandise, insurance, shredding services
• Market the store and company services
• Assist customers both in person and via phone/email, providing helpful advice
• Log and follow up on customer inquiries promptly
• Ensure customers are aware of security procedures
• Handle customer requests professionally with excellent customer service

Store Presentation

• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the store and surrounding areas
• Manage packaging materials to boost sales and improve the retail environment
• Ensure equipment is operational and report any needed repairs
• Report maintenance issues promptly and undertake minor repairs if necessary
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
• Demonstrate high sales standards and a target-driven mindset
• Be literate and self-motivated, with a passion for exceeding expectations
• Perform well in a demanding environment with minimal supervision
• Manage information, decision-making, planning, and prioritization to meet deadlines

General

• Accurately complete Storage King's policies and procedures
• Participate in company meetings and policy development
• Ensure health and safety standards are upheld
• Continuously review personal performance and seek improvement opportunities
• Respond to administrative and business requests professionally and promptly
