The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs.
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours.
  4. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring training updates.
  5. Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, participating in interviews, and evaluating candidates.
  6. Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
  7. Ensure all orders and transfers are processed timely, and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals.
  8. Utilize electronic ledgers to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
  9. Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and accurately.
  10. Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
  11. Communicate Zipline messages, delegate merchandising tasks, and ensure completion.
  12. Ensure team members comply with company policies, including work schedules and clocking in/out.
  13. Perform store opening/closing duties, including securing money, preparing deposits, and ensuring security measures.
  14. Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, hardware, equipment, and vehicles.
  15. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification.

Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification, ASE Certification, Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
