Reports To: Store Manager

Offering a wide selection of designer brands discounted up to 60% off department store prices at our 80 stores, K&G is a leading shopping destination for brand-name apparel, footwear, and accessories for the entire family.

Role Overview: As an Assistant Store Manager, you will partner with your Store Manager to support store team members in achieving sales performance expectations through active coaching, developing a team selling environment, and operational excellence when you are the manager on duty. This includes working with your Store Manager to assist in recruiting, hiring, and training the store team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Partner with Store Manager to lead store staff in achieving sales, service, and operational goals
  • Support in setting performance expectations and training staff in sales, customer service, and operations
  • Model company values and lead by example as an active coach
  • Communicate priorities and sales information effectively
  • Assist in recruiting and fostering an inclusive environment

Performance and Operational Excellence:

  • Support achievement of store business plans and goals
  • Develop and follow up on action plans to maximize sales
  • Use data to inform decisions and identify opportunities
  • Contribute to store outreach and communicate leads
  • Ensure proper staffing, training, and adherence to policies

Workplace Culture:

  • Promote an engaged and inclusive environment
  • Leverage training tools and support learning and development
  • Provide motivational leadership and serve as a role model
  • Support recruitment efforts
  • Conduct regular team meetings

Customer Experience:

  • Train staff on customer service standards
  • Lead the team to exceed customer expectations and improve scores
  • Use customer feedback to improve service and resolve issues
  • Ensure store visual standards and marketing initiatives are executed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of retail or sales experience
  • Creative, good judgment, and business acumen
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, strategic thinker
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Active listening and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to train and develop high-performing teams
  • Proficient in technology, Microsoft Office, and POS systems

Physical Requirements:
