Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for a new Conway, AR location under construction. You will support daily operations, lead the customer experience, and coach teammates to meet store standards.

This role offers growth toward Store Manager and multiple leadership paths within the Sun Auto Network. The position emphasizes strong communication, accountability, and the ability to manage shifts, weekends, and holidays while ensuring safe, high-quality work and customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations as manager on duty, including opening/closing and end-of-day documentation.
• Partner with Store Manager on scheduling, team assignments, and KPI execution.
• Lead a positive customer experience by greeting customers and documenting concerns.
• Present repair and maintenance recommendations clearly based on inspections and customer needs.
• Manage parts and tire inventory, including invoicing, returns, and warranty tracking.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies while delivering high-quality work.

What You’ll Do

• Support daily store operations as manager on duty, including opening and closing, cash handling, facility checks, and end-of-day documentation.
• Partner with the Store Manager on scheduling, teammate assignments, shop workflow, KPI execution, and coaching to store standards.
• Lead a positive customer experience by greeting customers, documenting concerns, reviewing service history, and keeping customers updated throughout the visit.
• Present auto repair, tire, and maintenance recommendations clearly and transparently based on inspections, customer needs, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Help manage parts and tire inventory, including receiving, invoicing, returns, warranty tracking, and POS accuracy.
• Follow safety procedures, escalation practices, documentation standards, and company policies while helping the team deliver high-quality work.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

You don’t need to know everything on day one — we’ll provide training. The right candidate brings customer focus, accountability, communication skills, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced automotive service environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-first approach.
• Comfort using POS systems, basic computer tools, and basic math for estimates, invoices, and transactions.
• Ability to lead by example and work a schedule that meets business needs, including opening/closing shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred:

• Previous Service Advisor, Assistant Manager, retail automotive sales, or store operations experience.
• State Inspector License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire, if required by location.
• ASE Certified Service Consultant certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire, if required or available.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Automotive shop environment with exposure to moderate to loud noise, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, and caustic materials.
• Temperature variations may include extreme heat and/or extreme cold.
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and walk to access various areas of the building.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly, with full range of motion in arms and hands.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds frequently.
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and refocus; use of safety goggles or other PPE as required.
• Ability to communicate with customers, service advisors, managers, and shop teammates.
