Staples, Inc. in Yonkers, NY is seeking an Assistant Manager to drive sales, services, and customer engagement. You and your team will build loyalty, provide total solutions, and guide a positive, inclusive store culture.

This full-time role includes leadership of a high-performing team and collaboration with the GM to execute store plans. You will coach staff, meet sales targets, manage operations, and ensure an exceptional customer experience through consultative selling and shrink-free

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing a sales team in retail or services.
• Experience coaching a customer-centric team.
• Ability to engage customers and identify needs.
• Strong communication and planning skills.
• Ability to lift 10–50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Essential skills and experience:

• 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry
• Experience managing and coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
• Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
• Strong communication, organization, planning and adaptive to changing business priorities
• Review results against business goals and strategies and deliver plans for growth and improvement
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range,climb ladders, stand and walk continuously

Preferred skills and experience:

• Experience using financial metrics to track sales progress to drive profitable sales and margins
• Ability to network and engage with the community
