Position Purpose

Assistant Store Managers in Training are learning the various responsibilities and functions of roles such as Assistant Store Manager, Operations Assistant Store Manager, Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, and Specialty Assistant Store Manager. They support the Store Manager in developing strategies to drive sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication with Associates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service Initiatives: supervising Associates, maintaining store appearance, managing staffing and stock deficiencies, resolving customer issues, and supporting sales and service needs.
2. Supervising Store Associates: interviewing, hiring, motivating, coaching, training, developing, and managing performance, including disciplinary actions.
3. Operations Management: overseeing front-end and back-end processes, including sales transactions, freight, inventory management, and store equipment operation, with a focus on safety compliance.
4. Business Analysis and Merchandise Planning: analyzing sales trends, working with partners on merchandise placement, and supporting inventory integrity.

Reporting and Travel

• Reports to a Store Manager.
• Overnight travel less than 10%.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Mostly sitting with opportunities to move; occasional lifting of light articles.
• Indoor, comfortable environment; infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18, legally permitted to work in the U.S.
