The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager leads store team members in servicing customers.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, ensuring team members execute customer service programs effectively.
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
  4. Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring ongoing training.
  5. Participate in hiring processes, including interviewing and candidate evaluation.
  6. Ensure proper answering of telephone according to company policy.
  7. Process online orders, transfers, and ship-to-store requests timely, contacting customers as needed.
  8. Use electronic ledger for outside purchase orders and ensure efficient handling of special orders.
  9. Manage merchandise returns, exchanges, and refunds accurately and efficiently.
  10. Ensure all merchandise and warranties are invoiced before leaving the store.
  11. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
  12. Ensure team compliance with policies, schedules, and clock-in/out procedures.
  13. Perform store opening/closing duties, including securing money, preparing deposits, and ensuring security measures.
  14. Maintain store building, parking lot, signage, hardware, equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification.

Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification, ASE Certification, bilingual in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
