Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration & Human Resource-related duties. Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1 year of experience as a department manager, service manager, or equivalent
  • Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval

Desired qualifications:

  • Retail management experience & knowledge of store operations
  • Staff supervisory experience

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist store manager & associates in providing excellent customer service and developing associate interest in customer relations.
  • Lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operational initiatives.
  • Develop action plans based on survey results and store opportunities.
  • Ensure high customer service standards and resolve issues.
  • Manage store operations in the absence of the store manager.
  • Achieve sales, wage, profit, safety, and shrink targets.
  • Drive sales and profitability through department collaboration.
  • Participate in financial performance discussions and budget development.
  • Analyze market and competitive landscape.
  • Promote inclusive leadership and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with union representatives when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and serve as a liaison with management.
  • Assist in staffing, reducing turnover, and increasing retention.
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Supervise and develop direct reports.
