Job summary

Rottinghaus Company Inc, a proud Subway franchisee in Wichita, KS, seeks passionate individuals for the Assistant Store Leader role. You will be a key player in daily operations, lead by example, and drive team development while ensuring food safety and customer service standards.

You’ll monitor productivity, manage inventory, and support the Store Manager with shift coverage and a positive culture in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example as a Sandwich Artist and mentor teammates.
• Monitor productivity and adjust hours as needed.
• Manage inventory, coupon logs, spot checks, and post-close reconciliations.
• Order food and track rotation in cooler, freezer, and dry goods.
• Open and close the store and handle catering orders.
• Support the Store Manager with shift coverage and culture.
• Ensure food safety and cleanliness per Subway and Health Dept. standards.
• Train new teammates and track progress.

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant Store Leader, you’ll be a key player in daily operations and team development.
These are your responsibilities:

• Leading by example as a Sandwich Artist.
• Monitoring productivity and adjusting employee hours as needed.
• Handling inventory, coupon log tracking, spot checks, and post close reconciliation during shifts worked as needed.
• Ordering food as needed.
• Tracking food rotation in cooler, freezer and dry goods.
• Being able to successfully open and close the store.
• Being able to successfully complete a catering order.
• Being able to bake bread according to Subway standards.
• Supporting the Store Manager with shift coverage and team culture.
• Ensuring food safety and cleanliness standards as set by Subway and the Health Department.
• Attending new promotional Window calls as requested.
• Performing cash-handling and reconciliation tasks.
• Training new team members and tracking their progress.
• Assisting employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their position.
• Develop positive working relationship with employees they are training to help adapt them to the store’s culture.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
